ISSEY MIYAKE AW11

The Issey Miyake show was quite a performance; origami paper structures were transformed into garments in front of our eyes, followed by more evolved pieces in various fabrics and weights.
For me, it was like being back at uni being taught in our first year that the best way to experiment with shapes and silhouettes it's to begin with paper.
What I particularly liked was that the collections fabric had depth, made even more apparent by the geometric prints in various popping colours. You know when you look at an Issey garment up close the detail of the weave and threads of the fabric will be beautiful.
I loved the dip dyed tights (I smell a DIY project coming on) and the styling was slick, with white paint arrows on the left side of the head hair sculpted into a ponytail.
What a perfect start to my Paris Fashion Week.
