ART DECO

I couple of months ago I was invited to the Arcadia headquarters to meet the winner of the Dorothy Perkins print design award, Charis Younger. Charis designed a beautiful art deco feather print in different sizes and colours to accompany her high summer collection, for the Dorothy Perkins consumer. I always think it's amazing for any brand to put out competitions giving students a chance to gain real experience and contacts in the industry. Charis is obviously very talented and I had so much fun chatting away with her and Rachel from DP. My favourite piece from the collection is the jumper of course, feels a bit Balenciaga to me. Thank you both for having me!
The mini collection is available to buy online and in selected stores now.

PS - How beautiful are Rachel's shoes that she scored at the Topshop sample sale for £5?!

Arcadia Evening

Tonight Alexxsia and I went to the launch of the high streets A/W collections at Arcadia. We had such a wonderful time! It wasn't at all how I had imagined it, the room was set up with rails filled with the new collections of Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and Evans, there was a photobooth set up in the middle of the room (that took me a while to realise that you could walk through it into a studio next door!) Rails even more packed full of the new collections were alongside accessories and props to be used for the photoshoots taking place at a constant rate. There was a tiny changing room at the back where all the bloggers got to know each other a little better...
There was wine and fruit cocktails flowing freely and the cutest canapes an hors d'œuvres were being served all around!

My favourite pieces from the collections were; the purple velvet dress from Dorothy Perkins, the black coat from Topshop alongside the leather cut out skirt from Topshop Unique.
It was such a fun filled girly evening, plenty of laughter and mucking about. It was such a shame the rain stopped us from going up onto the roof! I was so looking forward to it, cocktails in the roof garden overlooking London, of course we missed out!

I was told this evening was the first of it's kind, and this was the first ever blogger meet up I had ever been to so I didn't know what to expect, I have to say it was a huge success though and I hope we are invited on a regular basis to view the new collections and to be frank, have a right old girly time!
