A WILLY WONKA EXPERIENCE

It was truly Charlie and the Haagen Dazs factory on Wednesday when Alexxsia and I attended the launch of the new mint leaves and chocolate ice cream. As well as mojitos there were cheesecake cocktails, dry ice, parsnip, chocolate and something or other cocktails - very otherworldly; small nibbles of lobster, beef or avocado rolls as well as bowls of ice cream of course! Aside from the catering, what was really magical was entering the other world next door; bubbles that flowed out tasting like mint and chocolate before they floated up to the ceiling to be cruelly trapped by the skylight; dry ice infused with mint to be smelled whilst eating a brownie; and my favourite of all, the cold plate where you could make your own ice cream lollies by pouring vanilla cream, chocolate and your choice of sprinkles. I need to invest in the latter for home I think!

MONKI MADNESS

Last Thursday I attended the official opening of the new Monki store on Carnaby Street, the party theme was a sunken underwater world filled with silver balloons, carousels and plenty of cocktails; there was an all female set of entertainers with Yasmin DJing downstairs and Icona Pop rocking out upstairs; nibbles of jellies and mini burgers served on carnival trays and an a makeover counter where you could get sparkly eyelashes or lips like this..
The party was so much fun, I love the layout of the store and Monki's mission to make dressing up playful and enjoyable. I always found Carnaby street a little stale but with the opening of Monki and sister store Cheap Monday a few doors down the area is exciting again!

GARETH PUGH X MELISSA LAUNCH

Wearing: Rag and Bone cotton bud knit, complex geometries skirt, Ann Demeulemeester triple lace boots,  Dominic Jones rings, Mimco bag
A few Fridays ago Sandra invited me along to the Gareth Pugh X Melissa launch at Layers on Conduit St. The crowd was pretty amazing; catsuits, club kids and total babes all mingling; for a long time we wondered if it was Gareth inside that square latex green glitter suit, until of course he arrived... It was Sandra's outfit that killed me the most though - those iconic Balenciaga boots peaking through her amazing Bruno Pieters for Weekday skirt, argh! The shoes we were all there to see were pretty impressive too; my favourite were the gladiator sandals in matt black and white (bubblegum scented!); I think it's going to be a seriously successful collaboration, congrats Pugh! After having a few drinks and dancing to the spice girls - what else would play at a Gareth Pugh party? - we ended the night sat on the pavement, two iconic boots side by side.

BURBERRY BRIT PARTY

Last week I went to the launch of Covent Garden new Burberry Brit store hosted by Christopher Bailey. Surrounded by hot models and mini food (lamb burgers!) was pretty awesome whilst Life in Film played a live set.
Thanks to Lexxi for letting me pinch a couple snaps
