I bought this dress back when London was having an extreme heatwave in May; my wardrobe is filled with separates to be layered up and mixed and matched, which is a nightmare when you just want to be cool and comfortable. I have very few dresses, so I decided to take action and buy this Theory dress from the Farfetch sale. I love the draped back, and the huge front pocket, also the awkward spacing between hem, leg and shoe.
You may remember that certain lunch I had with the Varg team and Maria Nilsdotter a few months back, well the ring I ordered finally arrived! It was a difficult choice as I could easily have worn them all, but fell in love with this style after I borrowed it in gold over fashion week last February. I decided on a smaller size so I can wear it above the knuckle, I usually have chunkier rings on anyway, so now I can wear them all together! So happy to add this little guy to the family.
Last week, I was invited for lunch at Dean St Townhouse with Maria Nilsdotter to view the new and growing collection; I was happy to hear that Maria isn't seasonal so much as just keeps adding to the collection, so you can always go back and purchase a favourite, which is perfect as her pieces are the things you want to wear time and time again.
The new collection, featuring feathers, masks and delicate twigs, was inspired by a swan princess who desperately wants to be human and so is hiding a piece of her. Maria's story telling comes across so vividly with every new collection, born in Sweden, the stories originate from swedish folklore and childhood tales.
I had such a wonderful time meeting the lady behind the label, I can't wait to grow my jewellery collection over time with these beautiful pieces. Thank you so much to Maria and Varg for the invite and great company, as well as Dean St Townhouse for having us!
You can find Maria Nilsdotter accessories at Shop at Bluebird and Browns Focus.
Wearing: Ann-Sofie Back coat, Limi Feu coat, Charlie May sheer white dress, Dagmar black dress, Ann Demeulemeester triple lace boots, Alexander Wang clutch, Maria Nilsdotter rings
Outfit worn on the 4th day of London fashion week, it was so cold at Somerset House I was glad for two jackets, which meant that the dress didn't really come out other than for these photos.. oh welll! I love the layering of the Limi lapels over the minimal Ann-Sofie jacket, it's so much warmer having a collar around your neck in the cold! This was my last day at LFW too before I admitted myself to bed for the rest of the week; I'm back in Devon now for some serious country relaxation, sat in front of the roaring fire as we speak. Perfection. Hope you're all having a great weekend!
Thanks to Lexxi for the photos.
When you work all day every day with your hands it's impossible to keep a good manicure up. I'm a bit of a biter, unless I have a coat of nail varnish on I won't have any nails to contend with at all; so, a few days ago mid moan about the state of disrepair my nails had fallen into, Taylor Taylor said I should come along with Jen and try out their luxury manicure. As soon as we entered the salon/haven on Commercial Street, we were offered up a comfy chair and a cocktail menu (I kid you not, you can order any cocktail off the menu, any amount of times for free with your treatment). I sat downstairs whilst Jen had her cut and colour, and felt a million miles away from London and my busy studio.
This was seriously a luxury experience that I hadn't felt before and my nails have never looked so good! The luxury manicure includes the full pampering treatment with exfoliation and massage, followed by a hand mask, cleanse and shape. I think I need to start looking after myself a bit more and I'll know the place to head to next time I'm in need.
I'm wearing a dark red wine varnish with Maria Nilsdotter rings.
Thank you so much Taylor Taylor for giving me a refresh in time for fashion week!
After a surreal morning of trying to get into central London and failing due to student protests; we walked through the empty streets with loud helicopters hovering overhead, the mood was pretty strange, luckily we were able to seek refuge at Varg; possibly the nicest PR company i've ever met. The mood was like a family, Jen and I felt right at home, especially with Bob to keep us company! I was completely bewitched by the Maria Nilsdotter collection, totally in love, especially with the gold stacked spiked rings. Another brand that I'd obviously heard of before, but never really delved through rails of was Dagmar; beautifully made, well cut and would awesome up any outfit. One of the Dagmar sisters was in the Varg office when we arrived, she was so sweet and down to earth, it made me fall in love with the brand even more.
I think you'll be seeing a lot more Swedish brands in my wardrobe in the near future, especially as I discovered that labels like Dagmar and Won Hundred are stocked right on my back door, at the Jaguar Shoes concept store; No-One in Shoreditch, watch out!
Others brands pictured above include Swedish Hasbeens, Dagmar, Cooee, Diana Orving, Finsk, and Stylein.
Thank you so much to Tove and the Varg team for having me.
