JEAN-PAUL GAULTIER FOR LA PERLA LFW PRESENTATION

My favourite presentation of all (from a purerly selfish point of view) had to be the Jean-Paul Gaultier for La Perla collection. It is always exciting when a collection exceeds your own hype and this was even more beautiful in person than any pictures portray. The collection is so sexy and so feminine, you just wanted to try it all on immediately!
I always find myself staring at the Gaultier perfume ads for the magnificent corsets, now Gaultier has successfully brought cone bra's to the masses.
Apparently the designer approached La Perla 20 years ago to do a lingerie collection and the owner of the company refused, a few years ago the owner passed away and the company exchanged hands. Gaultier approached them again and they (obviously) lept at the chance.
My favourite piece has to be the triple strap nude bra with shoulder pads, pictured second. Imagine wearing it under a sheer top...

“Lingerie is part of my DNA and of my heritage,” Gaultier said. “In my latest prêt-à-porter collection I revisited the conical bras and corsets worn as outerwear. This collaboration was a natural and logical step, especially since La Perla is the pearl of the lingerie, with the best savoir faire.” Stylist
A limited edition back stitch satin bra with shoulder motif and garter belt are to be shown in Paris for Gaultier's Haute Couture collection next July.
The collection you see here is set to hit stores in November.

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER HAUTE COUTURE A/W 10/11

I adore this collection, it's Gaultier's aesthetic down to a tee.
Really refreshing to see Dita Von Teese modeling too.

JEAN PAUL GAULTIER AND LA PERLA COLLABORATION FOR A/W 2010

"JEAN PAUL GAULTIER, famous for using underwear as outerwear, is now set to design lingerie in its more traditional sense. He's joined forces with La Perla to design a high-end lingerie collection due to hit stores in November.
The new line will comprise 27, styles - nearly all handmade - including a waist-cinching corset and bra inspired by the cone bra that the designer created for Madonna in the Nineties."

Jean Paul Gaultier A/W 2010

On the whole there were some pretty crazy fabric and colour combinations in this 'World Traveller' collection, but I liked it. It was very fresh whilst referring back to classic Gaultier, with the corseted numbers and long swooping trench jackets.

Favourite Menswear so far

Juun J
Rick Owens
Burberry Prorsum
Jean Paul Gaultier
John Galliano
Gianfranco Ferre
Swooshy coats gallore at Dior
The live screening of the Dior show, although I wish they had done close ups, a lot of the details were lost.

Absolutely loving the menswear collections so far! Menswear is becoming so exciting! Last season Katie Eary was my favourite, this year I am definately excited about Aitor Throup.
Have been watching Juun J closely also, the sheer garments last season and now beautiful leathers with lots of zips, pockets and fuss. I love fussy garments!
Lots of variations of the trench this season, Burberry hit the nail on the head as always. The blue assymetric one is a favourite.
Galliano, of course, blew me away! Which ones do you like best so far?
