YARD SNAP

Wearing: Yohji Yamamoto trench, Theory dress, Celine shoes, MFP bracelet, Miu Miu sunglasses
Last Saturday the UK blogging clan got together for a yard sale in Susie's yard (pictured above), the whole day was a lot of fun, if not a little hard core in the morning with bargain hunters queuing from 9.30am! You've got to be in it, to win it, eh? In the afternoon it was barbecues and sunshine and we all got to relax a little. The sale came at the perfect time for me, as I'd just moved house, I was ruthless with my selling; my highest price being £50 for some Nicholas Kirkwood shoes! Thank you to those who made it, it was a pleasure meeting all of you and I'm already seriously looking forward to the next one!

YARDSALE

This time next week I'll be scooping up my bags and heading over to Susie's yard! I'm moving house.. today, so have been scrupulously sifting through my wardrobe, trying to narrow it down to pieces that I actually wear.
I seem to love collecting hats, despite the fact that I never really wear them! I'll be selling my ACNE leather cowboy hat seen here, and my Jaeger trucker hat, because hats should not just be decorative objects, they should be loved too! I think we're planning on having food, drink and even live music; so come to the yard, even just to hang out for the festival vibes. See you next week!

BLEACHED

Bleaching of the eyebrows has been a big thing since 2009, sparked by Givenchy bringing out their renowned A/W 09 campaign -one of my favourites; featuring striking lips, dark eyes and bleached eyebrows. Now, two of my favourite blogging ladies, Josefin and Alexxsia, have decided to lose their brows. I know it's not for everyone, but I'm so happy seeing it on real women and not just super models. It definitely brings out the features, leaving the face looking bold, beautiful and striking. I haven't seen the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo yet, but Rooney Mara looks pretty smoking hot with bleached brows too; maybe this will spark a big comeback for 2012.
I'll leave you with this insanely hilarious must read from the Daily Mail dating back to 2009, where they photoshop Daniel Radcliffe's face, leaving him looking like an evil super villain keen to seek revenge on who ever stole his eyebrows.

WHAT'S NEXT

In order of appearance: Daniella, FrancesKit, EmilyCarrieLucy, Winnie, ShiniJen, Sandra, and me.
On Tuesday I was invited along to visit the Next headquarters in Leciester to view the new S/S collection and take part in a blogger styling challenge.
We all met at an ungodly hour in Starbucks at St Pancras station, to find out we were being sent first class, in our own carriage, to the furthest North I have ever been. We arrived for a casual breakfast and a presentation of the trends and styles of the new collections. I was really impressed at the level of design that went into the pieces. I was seriously coveting the 70's trend items, especially the white summery, sheer pieces and wood/suede platforms.
Then it was on to the styling challenge where we were each given an item of the new collection to style with anything from the mock store. I was given the white blazer; very Ann D I thought with a tie at the back for a more asymmetric look.
My favourite part of the whole day had to be meeting so many lovely people. Thank you Next and thank you to Jenny from Jam for inviting me!

LOVE BLOGGING WITH STEVIE

So, I have been waiting with anticipation for my friend Stevie's Vice 'Love Blogging' video to come out, in my opinion they saved the best til last although, I would say that and I really enjoyed all of them; such a talented bunch of bloggers! I particularly adored Celestine Cooney in one of the first ones, she is so lovable with so much enthusiasm.
If you aren't aware of Stevie's blog - Discotheque Confusion, go check it out immediately!
(I will definitely be going to check out Dirty Blonde Vintage on Chesire St too.)
If you haven't been following the Vice Blogging series, I insist you go and catch up.

Arcadia Evening

Tonight Alexxsia and I went to the launch of the high streets A/W collections at Arcadia. We had such a wonderful time! It wasn't at all how I had imagined it, the room was set up with rails filled with the new collections of Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and Evans, there was a photobooth set up in the middle of the room (that took me a while to realise that you could walk through it into a studio next door!) Rails even more packed full of the new collections were alongside accessories and props to be used for the photoshoots taking place at a constant rate. There was a tiny changing room at the back where all the bloggers got to know each other a little better...
There was wine and fruit cocktails flowing freely and the cutest canapes an hors d'œuvres were being served all around!

My favourite pieces from the collections were; the purple velvet dress from Dorothy Perkins, the black coat from Topshop alongside the leather cut out skirt from Topshop Unique.
It was such a fun filled girly evening, plenty of laughter and mucking about. It was such a shame the rain stopped us from going up onto the roof! I was so looking forward to it, cocktails in the roof garden overlooking London, of course we missed out!

I was told this evening was the first of it's kind, and this was the first ever blogger meet up I had ever been to so I didn't know what to expect, I have to say it was a huge success though and I hope we are invited on a regular basis to view the new collections and to be frank, have a right old girly time!
