I'm so excited to have been sent the final page of my feature in Marie Claire South Africa, out now, July Issue! It's pretty amazing to be featured in a magazine outside of the UK, especially by such an iconic mag.

DIY SPORTS LUX WITH COMPANY MAGAZINE

 Last month Company magazine asked me to take part in their DIY blogger challenge, as I was heavily inspired by Alexander Wang SS12 collection, I thought it would be fun to try and create a sports lux garment from the high street. I think this is the first DIY tutorial I'd ever done on the blog and it was pretty hard work punching all the holes! The shirt turned out great though and I'm looking forward to styling it with my wardrobe.

You will need:

• A mini punch set (can also just use scissors but this is better for precision)   

•  A wax chalk (melts under heat, leaving no trace) 

•  A hammer to punch the holes with the set 

•  A ruler to measure out your markings 

•  A cutting mat so you don't punch holes in all your furniture!

 So, using a shirt from American Apparel, I marked out roughly where I was going to punch my holes with my wax chalk and then got punching using one of the larger hole settings, using the cutting mat to ensure the holes don't go through to the back. When you're done iron your garment to melt any wax chalk away, leaving your new sports lux piece!  

The feature is in the June issue out now, I'd recommend buying it as there's a pretty sweet DIY tutorial from Kit making a Simone Rocha inspired clutch that's way cooler than mine! Let me know how you get on if any of you try something similar.

GUESS WHO'S GETTING PRINTY

My new MyDaily shoot is up!I'm really not a print or colour type of girl, which is something I wanted to change. It's not that I dislike them, only that when it comes to shopping I seem to scoop up everything black, grey or dusky pastel in sight and disregard the rest. My usual dress code is more a focus on design I guess, the simpler the better, which is why this MyDaily shoot was such a fun experiment. There are so many favourites, I will be posting all the looks on here in more detail over the next couple of weeks. But if you can't wait then you can check out all of them on MyDaily now.

VANESSA G LAUNCH

The launch of Vanessa G was a party, a fashion show and a birthday all rolled into one. Held in the Banqueting Hall, the party was downstairs with the fashion show held upstairs under the gaze of beautiful renaissance art; the stage went all around the room with rotating art/mirrors, staircases and windows. A live band played some quite intense sinister string music whilst models walked around the room, moving behind screens to reappear later on. I have to say I found a lot of the garments reminded me of previous collections by various designers, the show lacked that first sight excitement of great design. The prints were beautiful with trousers and blouses covered in flowers and landscapes but I felt this was more akin to a Whistles or Reiss collection than high end. There was clearly a lot of money behind the event, I even heard that business woman turned designer Vanessa G had flown out the entire team of Vogue India for the night! 

It was a fun night despite my final opinion of the collection, we danced to Sophie Eliss Bextor, drank various cocktails and champagne whilst toasting to Vanessa's 50th birthday.

ROMINA KARAMANEA S/S 11

This year I'm into prints in a big way, there are many designers doing print in the right way at the moment and one of my
favourites is Romina Karamanea.

Back when I met Romina at the Estethica Press Day held at Somerset House she expressed to me how happy she was with this collection, previously her collections had been reviewed as being very dark but she insisted she loves colour. Quite rightly proven in this collection for S/S 11, the marbled prints combined with the bright popping colours are stunning, whilst the cut leaves backs open, necks high and 

contrasts loose silhouettes with tighter to the body pieces.
