YARD SNAP

Wearing: Yohji Yamamoto trench, Theory dress, Celine shoes, MFP bracelet, Miu Miu sunglasses
Last Saturday the UK blogging clan got together for a yard sale in Susie's yard (pictured above), the whole day was a lot of fun, if not a little hard core in the morning with bargain hunters queuing from 9.30am! You've got to be in it, to win it, eh? In the afternoon it was barbecues and sunshine and we all got to relax a little. The sale came at the perfect time for me, as I'd just moved house, I was ruthless with my selling; my highest price being £50 for some Nicholas Kirkwood shoes! Thank you to those who made it, it was a pleasure meeting all of you and I'm already seriously looking forward to the next one!

LIFE'S A BEACH

Wearing: PUMA hat, Yohji Yamamoto trench, Alexander Wang tank, Jil Sander trousers
Last Saturday I headed to the Roundhouse in Camden, for their Pop-up beach with some friends. It was insanely hot (I soon ditched the black trench), so we grabbed a jug of Pimms and some deckchairs and lay out to sizzle. It as pretty surreal being surrounded by sun and sand, with London's city scape just about visible over the pastel crates, and yet still very relaxing.
The beach is open for August so head down there when you have a few free hours. There's quite a family vibe in the morning but as soon as the 2 for 1 cocktails start, people soon crawl out of the woodwork.
Thank you to Matthew for the shots of moi

BREAKFAST WITH SWEDISH HASBEENS

Wearing: Yohji Yamamoto jacket, 2nd Day tank, Nicolas Andreas Taralis skirt, Acne trousers, Converse trainers, Mimco bag, Dominic Jones and Backstage rings
Last week I had the chance to meet the founder of Swedish Hasbeens at Selfridges for the launch of their pop up store. It was so much fun, with a whole choreographed dance of girls bending into insane positions and flying through the air with ribbon sticks! It was the perfect way to show off the new SH collection, still with a hint of clog but mostly inspired by the classic bowling shoe. Emy, the founder of the iconic shoes and I could not have been more oppositely dressed she was telling the story of the beginnings of the brand; when they started in 2006 it was hard because everybody was having a black moment, now the world is more accepting of colour and their business is thriving, I suppose I'm still stuck in 2006 then!
This is one of my more casual looks that I've been living in recently, loving my new shoes from Mr Porter! Michael actually pulled Alexxsia aside at the launch to double check if I knew I was wearing trainers, I love them ok? Now to get my hands on some of these bowling babies!

FASHION IN MOTION - YOHJI YAMAMOTO AT THE V&A

Last week I was went to the V&A to watch Fashion in Motion featuring the work of Yohji Yamamoto. It was very much a continuation from the exhibition and featured work from the Spring/Summer 2011 collections. The models were real life couples (so cute!) an idea which Yohji had first put into practise on his S/S 1999 collection, believing that he only makes 80% of the garment, the wearer completes the other 20 with how they make it their own.
The show was really beautiful, especially set in the Raphael Gallery with huge paintings surrounding the walls. The clothes were obviously amazing, so many textures and colours. I adored the prints against the deep black wools and the floating chiffon. The tailored shirts and jackets for the men were incredible, great use of fabrics. The finale piece that somewhat resembled a 'naughties' blow up creation (do you remember that trend?) put a smile on everyone's face.
Thank you to Jasmine for inviting me. I'm seriously looking forward to V&A events like this in the future.
